so ive tried multiple editor versions and they all seem to get stuck on the "editor application ": validating. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling unity, i turned off avast one , i also “ran as admin”. but there is no use. pleaseee help
When you download and install, does a UAC prompt pop up after download finishes and during installation? If not, there may be some configuration issue on your system. Try resetting the UAC to defaults.
If you start the download and leave the computer unattended you might miss the UAC prompt and after some time it will default to “disallow” thus leading to the easy-to-fix validation issues. There are other causes though.
Therefore also look at the Unity Hub log file after a failed install and post it here.
PS: Run as admin is never the solution. Unity must not be run with admin privileges.
