I’ve been having serious performance issues when trying to watch videos on Unity Learn. The videos often lag or stop completely, and sometimes I can only watch for a short while before playback freezes. Even images on the site take a very long time to load — it feels like using the internet back in the 90s when pictures loaded line by line.
Here’s what I’ve already tried:
Different web browsers (Chrome and Firefox)
Different computers
Safe mode
Clearing the browser cache
Trying at different times of the day
Despite all that, the issue persists. I should also mention that my internet connection is stable and fast. I have no problems streaming videos from YouTube, Vimeo, or other platforms — only Unity Learn seems to be affecte
I’ve searched the forums, Googled the problem, and even asked AI tools for help — but nothing has worked so far.
Could Unity please look into this? Also, would it be possible to expose video quality settings on Unity Learn? That way, we could manually reduce the quality if bandwidth or streaming performance is an issue.
I’m experiencing the same issue Unity Learn videos lag and sometimes freeze completely, even on a fast connection. Other streaming platforms work fine, so it definitely seems platform-related. Adding manual video quality settings would be a huge help just like capcut.
I agree with you, as I have experienced it as well. I am not sure if they allow to download the video or not but If they do, I would suggest you to download the video from unity and also you can easily share the videos by using a quick video sharing app.
Thank you for your answer. I forgot to write that I have also tested it. It took a very long time to download. I have also tested VPN. Also different settings in the browser
I have found some kind solution. I downloaded Internet Download Accelerator (Not a sponsor it just works). And using MS Edge browser developers tools (F12) copy video URL to download accelerator app and videos are downloaded correctly. I don’t use it for publishing just for my self. @muhammadzohaib0378@Mackan9@gascarengine@AgainstAi@milind9996@davidrobert0301234
I’m having the same issue, I’ve tried Opera,Brave and Edge and my phone but none works. I can download the videos on Brave just fine but each 2-3 min. video takes about 10 minutes to download. It also kind of ruins my learning because there are so many short videos and I have to switch between my browser, media player and unity every 3 minutes. It’s not very practical so I think I’ll try to find other tutorials until they fix the platform. I also sent an e-mail to support but it says the reply may take longer than 4 weeks
I have the very same problem. when I open any of the courses, the page starts loading all of the videos at once which makes things insufferably slow. then I open one video in another tab by itself to witness this:
apparently a 104 seconds video is 218mb in size and the maximum speed I’m getting is 0.5mb (I should be getting at least 4 times that amount). there’s no way I’m going to be able to watch this video properly.
this is not only a bad user experience, but it also reduces accessibility of the platform. if someone without a fast internet can’t learn the engine, what’s the point in using the engine in the first place?
We’ve identified the issue with the video loading speed and are currently testing a fix that should make loading videos significantly faster. Based on how the final tests go, we’re aiming to release it in the next few days.
I’m having the same issues, I have tried on Mozilla, Edge, and even Safari on an Iphone, nothing helps.
I have succesfully completed the Unity Essential pathways inside the editor, it loads correctly there. However once I wanted to start the programmer pathway, the website doesn’t load the videos.
Any updates how long we have to wait. Im in a school class where we are going trough the junior programmer course, and the whole course had to be paused since the videos arent loading.
I had the same issue yesterday and the day before (20-21/10/2025) operating from Belgium.
For me it is resolved since ~ 14:00 this afternoon (22/10/2025).
Videos are now loading smoothly and i’m able to continue with my course.
I only noticed 2 video’s so far not loading at all, they are not buffering slowly but giving me the error message concerning connection with server not working.
