We want to let you know about critical changes that will affect the functionality of previous Voice and Text Chat (Vivox) SDK versions from August 1, 2023.
What this means for you:
- Unavailability of older SDK Versions: Starting from August 1, 2023, it will no longer be possible to download any Vivox SDK versions released before 5.21.0 from the Unity Dashboard or the Vivox Developer Portal.
- Deprecation of Unity Package Manager versions: For those who have downloaded Vivox via the Unity Package Manager, we will be removing all prior versions on August 31, 2023. This action will require you to update to the latest version immediately to ensure uninterrupted development capability.
Potential impact:
If you continue to include previous package versions beyond August 31, 2023, Unity projects utilizing those versions will no longer load or compile properly. We highly recommend updating to the latest Vivox SDK version before August 31, 2023, to avoid any disruptions.
All live titles will remain unaffected if you are currently using previous versions.

To ensure seamless compatibility and to benefit from the latest features, we strongly advise you to take the following actions:
- Update to the latest Vivox SDK version:
Please update your Vivox SDK to version 5.21.0 (Unity 15.1.210000-pre.1, Unreal 5.21.0.unr.0) to guarantee the continued smooth operation of your Unity projects. This update can be accessed via the Unity Dashboard or the Vivox Developer Portal starting August 1, 2023. - Select the latest package in the Unity Package Manager:
For those who have integrated Vivox via the Unity Package Manager, please make sure to update to Unity 15.1.210000-pre.1 by August 31, 2023.
