War in the skies - new demo

This is an old game, but i’m working on it again.

The new version of ‘War in the skies’ is ready, but the game still is not finished. Help me out with some tips or something. Thanks!

Please give me some feedback. I’ll be waiting. Thanks and enjoy it!

Cool!

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you do the mini map?

the radar?

i get the X and Z coordinates of all the gameobjects with an specific tag and then use GUI images to draw it according to their positions. But the radar should rotate according to the player position, so it’s not finished yet. What do you think?

There’s a little bit of a problem with the part of the game that explodes/kills your jet when you presumably go too far out of the map. Actually, it didn’t seem too far for me. But anyway when I got to the Destroyer type warship it warned me “Go Back!”… and a few seconds later the game kills me because it says I went outside of the invisible “border”.

So yeah you’ll need to work that out. Don’t put enemies near or outside of the border of the map - players tend to go there… but if they’re not allowed and will automatically get killed when they get there, why put enemies there?

Otherwise yeah not bad. I hope you can get the radar worked out because right now as you know it’s difficult to work out where the enemies are.

Hey man, this is fun.

yes, i have to work on that border. Actually, in the beggining it was an invisible force field, but it seems to be a little odd. Maybe the best is to make a bigger map. Good thinking about the enemies outside of the map, i’ll look into that too.

Thanks for your comments!

Thanks killer1390!

Also, here is a radar that rotates.
Radar linkage

Great!! thanks man, u r the best!

No problem :).

Nice, here is my suggestion though

I do not like the aiming, normallly you have to divide the motion part from the aiming part like in shooters. The best arcade airplane controls on PC I ever tested was from the game called: JETFIGHTER 2015. You may find free demo on the web.

Check my WIP solution, still not exactly how I want, but maybe it may be helpfull to you (sorry the scene is a bit high poly though)

Good to see another chilean working with Unity, sometimes i think my countrymen dream too much of making their own engines instead of starting a simple game and finishing it.

You’re right about the aiming, maybe the best is to use the interior camera to aim with the machine gun, i like your solution. I have to think how to solve that issue, but thanks for your comments and suggestions.

Nice to meet you! i’m glad to have found another chilean here too!
About your comment, i met some developers who make simple games, but I think the worst problem is not complete their games. Some of them are really good
