We have a lot of legacy code in our project that would be difficult to completely refactor into addressables, but a lot our assets can be compressed as well. Can you give any more details on your project’s Player Settings? Do you use ASTC texture compression? WebGL1 or WebGL2?

In my case, the faster build with a size of 18.5 MB on disk crashes, while the smaller (16.2 MB) build works well.
