Here is an example of editor images. All our assets are super dark.
In this example I put a white default lit material at the bottom disc, which however then appears 50% gray in preview.
Opening the prefab shows the prefab preview scene and much lighter color.
It cannot be our materials or prefab preview scene.
Is there any way to fix this or is this just a unity settings issue?
This is HDRP 2022.3 LTS
i don’t understand this “In this example I put a white default lit material at the bottom, which appears 50% gray in preview.”
what bottom?
This white disc is white on the prefab, but appears medium gray in the prefab preview. This is a empty lit material which proves that it is not our custom materials which are an issue, and that the prefab preview is much darker than it should be.
ok, got it.
what is this? Hdrp, urp?
I’ve checked with a simple object in urp and both the small preview window and the prefab look the same on 2023.50f1
just create a default project with a simple 3d cube and see if you still have the issue and post the cleaned up project here I will check how it looks on my computer. just delete all the folders that are not required from the project you post you don’t need to upload 1gb of files
I suspect the previews are not tuned for HDRP changes in exposure
