Hrmm true that was a bit harsh, but it was mainly for comedic value.
Most people who make a first post like this rarely ever post again it seems.
On a more helpful note, that’s really not all that much money even for a small time developer. The time and effort you will save by working with such an awesome tool/platform more than make up for it.
FYI - For a Mac to run Windows programs, you will need something like Parallels. Alternately, you can use Bootcamp – you can then boot into Windows (but while in Windows you can’t run Mac programs and while in Mac OS, you can’t run Windows programs)
129,00 € is the cost of OS X, not a Mac. You can find Mac prices on this page. Mac kaufen - Apple (DE) All Macs come with OS X. OS X will not run on a PC.
On a mac you can run .exe programs under emulation at the same time as you are running OSX, or you can also natively boot into windows.
So if you have some windows program that want to use with Unity like 3d studio max or visual studio, I believe it is possible to do that. But you will have to get windows emulation software first. I am not sure about running things like modeling apps under emulation though, they may be extremely slow. Probably you would want to check the website of whatever emulation you are looking at for details on what it can and can’t do.
And you aren’t the first person to switch to mac for Unity, I think we’ve seen at least 10 prominent users do it and there surely are more.
