This is the starter topic for the new RPG Kit that is being developed by PMG presently. It draws its inspiration from the Zerano RPG Starter pack and the Burgzerg hack and slash tutorials but will be a completely new codebase backed by an SQLite database. it will have all the baseline features of a third person / first person RPG and will be a stepping stone to a full on MMORPG kit with all the features of Everquest and SWG and other major titles. Ive been following the other thread. This kit sounds great. Do you have a list of all the features and the expected release date and price?
I am working on all of those actually. The company recently experienced some internal changes some team members had to leave and or be let go. Therefore I apologize for the delay in answering.
All of the current features in the zerano rpg starter package will be present in the new version, the backend of them is changing pretty drastically( I have ended up going with xml data storage for the single player kit and mysql for the new MMO kit i am working on). Along with new more userfriendly and intuitive editors, and new features such as a profession system and making the kit more generic in terms of genre so that you can make a scifi rpg like knights of the old republic for instance or a fantasy game like everquest.
It will also be sporting new leveling mechanics and the abbility to use a few different types of advancement. I will also be implementing features such as the Alternate Advancement functionality of everquest. and other things as well.
The release date is still to be determined the price will range between $75.00 and $100.00 US. I realize this is a drastic hike in price however. The reasoning behind the higher price than the zerano rpg starter package is because initially i had merely taken over development of the package. And i will be continuing that kit as well however the PMG RPG kit is an entirely new and unique entity and will share none of the code of the zerano kit whatsoever.
I will however be continuing development ofd the zerano kit as well for those whom have a smaller budget to work with and to support those who already purchased it. I hope this answers your questions a full feature list and further details will follow soon
