WTB upgraded physx :)

Would be nice in 4.x

Do it Unity! … Maybe make a ks about it! I mean… many folks would be interested!

What kind of hit’s that going to make on CPUs?

Got excited for a second. Thought it might run on Intel. Nvm :\

It’s designed for everything :stuck_out_tongue:

And it’s more optimised than what we’ve got.

Would I finally get to use all the sexiness of physx in full? Like, the AWESOME destructible walls, etc…?

Most likely not as Unity wouldn’t support them.

Last I checked, Unity’s PhysX implementation had trouble rolling balls in straight lines, so any physics refresh would be welcome.

Would also be nice to see the NinjaCamp Chipmunk experiments find their way into a point release. The Farseer Box2D efforts are nice, but they’re quite a bit shy of a polished finished product…a good demonstration of what could be, at the very least.

Indeed. Thing is, I’d like 2D / 3D physics to have the same interface and workflow in unity if they ever came about.

“WTB upgraded physx :)”

WTB? Great… now it’ll be a $1500 add-on.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Lets roll our own and put it in the Asset Store

Some real-time, dynamic, non-prefractured destruction, eh?

Those GDC demos were EVIL…

I’ve actually done something very similar - just never took it to market due to laziness :stuck_out_tongue:

From that list Unity can use 0 items unless you can make use of the bigger worlds because:

  1. Unity actively disables physx multithreading (physx 2.x already has that)
  2. Unity does not stream
