same …things here ![]()
likewise unity android remote seems to be broken completely in the latest release … but at least they fixed the java bug in 3.4
Mine works but it now displays the upper part of the game tab! This extra bit also offsets the finger touch coordinates by the same amount.
I’ll submit a bug report if no-one replies.
This is from my Samsung Galaxy S i9000
mine too displays the upper part of the game tab, either way it is not functional for me at all ( Samsung Galaxy S )
Ahh, I forgot to tell you guys, there’s a DIFFERENT Unity remote on the marketplace for 3.4. The 3.3 one is from some test account named “UnityTest Account”, so they made a more official ‘Unity Technologies A/S’ named account with the 3.4 one. They should probably delete the old one or at least name it differently.
Also, can we get ‘back key = exit’ in remote?
I found that one to have the same issues, I downloaded it same day i found 3.4 was out and that the 3.3 remote from the test account was not working.
I second the “back key = exit” functionality request.
I’m using the same old Remote and here it is working the same way it always did before.
But the exit functionality would be appreciated.
WolfoX, can you please confirm that you are using Unity 3.4 and what make model phone your using? I’ll do anything to get this working even if it means buying a new phone… lol
Droid and Galaxy Tab, Unity 3.4 Pro plus Android Pro.
The Remote I can’t even remember the date I installed it, it was long months ago, but still working very fine.
Think there might be a way for me to get the version of the android remote your using? You can send it to somethingjava at gmail dot com.
Dido the game tab is showing but at least it runs on my archos 43 now! Thats some improvement anyway.
Here is what I’m seeing on the following devices:
HTC EVO 4G - Old remote does not work at all, but the new remote works.
HTC EVO Shift - Old remote does not work at all, but the new one works.
Nexus One - Old remote shows all white screen, however touch controls work fine. The new remote does NOT work.
Moto Droid - Old remote does not work at all, but the new one works.
Acer Iconia Tablet - Both versions do NOT work.
Note: In the new version of remote, the game tab can be seen.
Is there anyone can send me an android remote for Unity 3.4 apk, please? My Email: johnson.zhs@gmail.com, Thanks a lot!
Please… does anyone have unity remote 3.4?
Agreed on the back arrow, however, that top bar is a higher priority because on my Motorola it has the bar also and it is throwing off the touch location, the resolution is lacking also.
Here is the screen shot of both Xoom and Nexus One showing the bar across the top, doesn’t matter if the player is set to full screen or not, throws off the touch ability.
Mororola Xoom
Got it by a simple market search for Unity Remote and 3.4 is up there.
Nexus One
I just downloaded the new Android Remote from Android Market and it’s working just fine. Make sure you have USB debugging mode enabled on your phone. You may also need to restart Unity.
Has there been any overall resolution to this issue? I downloaded and installed the latest Unity Remote from ‘Unity Technologies A/S’ and tried to use it with my new Motorola Atrix. I ran an app (GyroDroid) that demonstrates the operation of the orientation sensor. The first thing the app does is drop a number spheres from the top of the screen (using gravity force). When I run it with Unity Remote, I do see those spheres dropping (so it is sending snapshots to PC correctly), but none of the sensor inputs appear to be working (e.g. tilting the phone).
I also couldn’t get the Android Remote (version 1.0) to work with Unity 3.4, so I installed the latest Android Remote from the Android Market, and I noticed it is version 1.1. It was not an update to the original Remote, it was a completely separate app, so I had 2 Remote apps on my phone (it looks like the original Remote (version 1.0) has been removed from the Android Market, though the new one has the same name: Remote). It didn’t work until I closed Unity, forced a stop of the remote app on my phone, then reopened Unity and launched the Remote app. Now it works. Hope this helps someone.
My (now working) setup:
Samsung Nexus S 4G
Unity 3.4 Pro and Unity Android Pro
Remote 1.1
Android Remote isn’t available for Kindle Fire. Can someone please post a link to the .apk file so we can just install it with adb?
