Can import character but Animation gets lost

Hi all…I’ve been trying for a while now with different settings to get my character animation in unity via maya fbx. I can get the character in but the animation is lost and the character comes in in a pose midway into the scene.

Anyone else encounter this? Do I have to kill the rig in maya first before exporting?

I need help asap as a project is nearing due date.

Yes you need to bake you animation and to export bones info only for animation.

Same with the character : model + skin + bones only

There’s another topic concerning this, use an older fbx format. 2010 / 2009 not 2011

I work with FBX 2011.3 everyday and I didn’t not any issue when exporting to Unity 3.0.0f5.

K…I’ve baked the animation…I’ve killed the rig…I’ve even cached to geo in maya and then tried exporting via fbx exporter and still all I get is the model with no animation in Unity…please help me someone…

inside the fbx export options there is a separate check box for animation, make sure that is checked.

Could you try the following command in the mel-script editor and send back the file if it doesn’t work?

I didn’t tried it but it should be ok.
The shout at the end will show where the script drop the file.
