Can we consider getting a "Micro transaction" store that is built into the editor?

I really am baffled how this isn’t a thing.

One HUGE problem with the asset store is dealing with endless packages and for textures, sounds, or models.

"Want a grass texture?

Download this texture pack with 1000 textures and navigate through ten folders to find the texture.

Your project is now 50 Gigs. $100, please?"

This is so beyond stupid and insane and I’m so sick of it and done.

What you NEED to do is make a little micro transaction shop.

A window where you search “Stylized Grass Texture” and it populates a ton of textures. You drag and drop it where you want it and look at it. Then grab a different texture and drag and drop it, removing the first one. That’s the one. Ok, purchased!

$1.

Can’t do anything else in the project until you either put it back or buy it.

Same with sounds, models, animations, menus, you name it.

AND offer a subscription model for unlimited access to micro assets.

And if you want to go REALLY crazy… HIRE FULL TIME ARTISTS!

It hurts my brain how this is not a thing already.

Those micro assets are AI generatable these days. IMO the whole idea of buying a 1,000 textures pack asset is money not well spent. You would usually get just a few textures, ie grass variants, or wood variants, whatever you need, hand-picked. There’s sites where you can get them for cheap or even free in good quality.

It’s also best practice to import such big media asset packs into a blank project. Find what you need, export it as .unitypackage, and import just the selected assets into your main project to keep it clean and tidy.

AI is not there yet.

Also, some people prefer not to touch AI.
