I’m experimenting with creating a decal with an extreme normal on it, to give the impression that a wall has a concave chunk missing from it.
Here’s what it looks like right now:

The main problem is that the decal isn’t doing a good job of drawing on top of the the wall’s texture. You can see the tiling lines bleeding through. I don’t know what’s causing this, as I have opacity set to max on the material and the decal projector. In addition, the base color texture I’m using is fully opaque on those portions.
Does anyone know why the decal would only be somewhat covering up what it’s on top of, instead of fully covering it?
Here’s what the decal material and the decal projector look like, and I’ve also attached the textures I’m using for the decal.
