Hello,
No this is not supported at the moment. UI Toolkit is largely based on the same back end as Text Mesh Pro and has the same limitations.
It’d be really great if you can provide something like this in future.
I want to add that both TMP and UI Toolkit supports basic color gradient.
1- Create a Color Gradient asset in the right Resources folder. The path is specified and can be updated in the PanelTextSettings. (Assets > Create > Text > Color Gradient).
2- Select the Color Gradient asset. There are multiple options to choose from in the inspector window, but the gradient is only between 2 colors. You may be able to achieve something similar to what you shared by combining multiple Color Gradients.
3- Apply your Color Gradient asset using rich text tags. Ex: <gradient=“name-of-the-color-gradient”>Your text
Note that for UI Toolkit, we intend to expose a similar property to USS that will be driven by text rather than a new asset, but we haven’t got to it yet.
Should this still work? Entering rich text with the tag doesn’t even transform the tag, just stays as text. works though. This is 2023.2.10f.
