I’m fairly new to Unity and am looking to design some animations for character models that I want to implement in my project.
Is there anything out there that does a good job of making walk cycles, idle cycles, attacks etc that is free, like the basic version of Unity is free?
I don’t want loads of features, just enough to animate the models I want.
Anyone got any ideas?
Blender is free but sounds like it might be more sophisticated than you’re looking for.
I’m not to bothered about sophistication, I’m 15 using Unity,
I just want to make sure it will do what I want it to do, I’m willing to learn. I will take a look, thanks.
Blender is very powerful, it’s a bit different than other apps but nothing that can’t be learned in a week of practicing. I’ve been using it for 11 years. With the newest versions (2.5+) it has met my needs as an animator. The community for blender is also very friendly, I suggest visiting www.blenderartists.org to get more information. You don’t have to learn all of blender’s features either, I sure don’t know how to use the compositor but I use other things.
