I have used ChatGPT to get help with while building games in Unity. Especially I used ChatGPT to get help with coding and even some workflow understanding. With similar kind of interface to ChatGPT, how is the current version of Muse to be considered as different or more advanced?
I suggest trying them both, as well as other models you may be interested in. Come up with a series of prompts and see which model comes up with the best answers. If Muse isn’t giving you the best answers sharing feedback here would be a good idea so the folks at Unity can make improvements.
In theory Muse as a fine tuned LLM trained on all the Unity documentation should be more up to date and helpful when it comes to answering Unity specific questions than GPT-4. The real productivity increase I think though will be when it becomes integrated into the editor itself and can perform tasks like building scenes and setting up animation controllers itself based on natural language prompts in addition to writing scripts and providing step by step instructions.
Thanks for your input. I am comparing the results of ChatGPT with Muse and I found ChatGPT to be more accurate and relevant while answering my Unity related queries satisfactorily. On the other hand, Muse is taking too much time to answer any of my queries. Muse is often making mistakes in it’s results for which it’s apologizing and regenerating the answers upon re-questioning. For instance, it could not guide me accurately in first response about navigating to the right tools and path for texturing the plane in empty 3D scene. Muse seems to be hallucinating even with the basics of Unity engine whereas ChatGPT guided me precisely for the same query around texturing the plane.
Nonetheless, I am super optimistic about use of AI in Unity and Muse in general. When Muse becomes integrated into the Unity editor itself to start building stuff and setting up animation controllers itself based on the English prompts, it’ll really be a game changer. For now, I am not able to understand why Muse is taking so much time even to respond to basic and small queries in empty 3D scenes as a complete beginner(as compared to ChatGPT). I tried this while building a basic environment for underwater game and asking queries around ground surface, water area as a beginner. I’ll surely send my feedback to dev team as I experiment further with Muse while trying to build my underwater game.
