How to get to free version? Mine says authorization.

Hi,

I downloaded a copy of Unity and it says that: “This version of Unity requires authorization for you to use it”, but I thought Unity for desktop is free and “Pro” version is 30-days trial, isn’t it? I want to use the free version.

So what am I missing here?

Just click register, Unity Free requires activation as well.

You can choose internet activation and it will ask for an email.
Provide one, and then your Free version of Unity will be activated.

You have to register Unity to use it, regardless of being free.
