How to use a 360° panoramic photo as a texture inside a cylinder

Hi!
I would like to use a 360° panoramic photo as a texture around my player (first person) to get the same feeling as a QTVR. How do I do that? I’ve tried to put it as a texture inside a cylinder but the cylinder is just black.

Thanks

Farre

Is the cylinder inside-out? Do you have a light on the inside? Are you using an 'unlit' shader? These are all important things which your question hasn't specified.

First of all check the lights. You will need lights to see things.
You should use a 3d program like maya or 3ds. Then probably u will need to check normals, to make shure it will be visible from the inside. then u apply the texture and import it back to unity. if you are not familiar with normals check this out.

Actually I solved the problem by editing the 6 skybox pictures in Photoshop. Now I have a city with a sky surrounding my game terrain. Thanks anyway

That was a better way to do it, yes.

@Farre I did a cylinder from blender in four pieces to do cardinal directions, basically, I wanted something procedural and NSEW to have different bkgs with matching physical types. Here’s a screenshot. Congrats on figuring it out!
