I am redownloading Unity on my Laptop. I had no issues with the HUB (love the new presentation) but when trying to install an editor, I get stuck in a loop with a “Installed Failed: Validation Failed” error. I tried going back to the previous version of the Hub and that did not wok. I also tried previous editors and that didn’t work either.
I had this same installion bug on my M1 Mac—until I a) set my account to admin (not ideal for security!) and b) manually created the folder structure Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor. Now I have Unity 2021 and Visual Studio installed.
Except I still can’t install the documentation: “Download failed: Validation failed.” This is with the latest 3.0.1 Hub update.
I’m guessing I need a similar workaround: to manually create the directory(s) where documentation goes… what are the exact folder names/locations for that? (I tried creating a folder “Documentation” within the specific editor version’s folder, but no luck.)
Mac Os Monterey, installing the 2021.2.16f1 silicon.
I had the folder Applications/Unity/Hub/Editor from previous installs (I recently changed macbook and removed previous installs before migrating), however the permission were read only for everyone. I changed it to read write for everybody and it worked.
