New Editor design system - what do you think? (898443)

If you make Editor tools for your team or work on Editor UI in some way, the new Editor Foundations Design System is for you! The Unity UX-Foundations team just launched this free design system packed full of helpful guidance, best practices and other resources to help users build better Editor UI.
Please give the EFDS a try and let us know what you think by hitting the “Feedback” button on the EFDS site. And please spread the word as we’d love the EFDS to benefit as many users as possible. Thanks lots!!

It’s nice to have updated guidelines for this sort of thing. They look very thorough. Thank you.

Just a heads up: The whole thing about Icons with MIP levels for the Project window doesn’t work; at least it doesn’t for normal users. The resolution number isn’t detected at all anywhere; it doesn’t work in the Project window, or Inspector windows, or the Scene. The theme prefix doesn’t work for ScriptableObjects in the Project window.

The theme Prefix functionality for the Project window is the one that I miss the most; we can try to make an Icon work in multiple sizes by making it large, but making a single icon work in both light and dark themes is harder.

Hi Oscar - we’re really glad you like the EFDS! And thanks for that feedback about Icons with MIP levels - I’ve put that on our backlog to investigate as it sounds problematic for sure. We love any and all feedback so keep those observations coming please!

Never saw this until today, fantastic stuff!

I just found your new Editor design system over google and was amazed how well documented everything this. You’re working on something really important for unity here. A huge thanks to you all working on this!

Is there any ETA for when the icon library will be added? Right now it’s such a pain to find editor icons and I would love to see something official!
