I was wondering if anyone had a method for making normal maps for particles? I am mostly thinking of things like smoke trails and large particle fog, to give it more depth. Example image, haven’t tested the results in Unity (TiBook unfortunately has only a Radeon 7500; and my Mac Pro is about 1600mi away ):

as far as generating the maps themselves, i’d imagine either of the usual methods would work fine, model the geometry bake a flat map or use unity’s normal map import setting on a regular image.
