Opening Visual Studio with Unity

I don’t normally post here, but I’m running into a bit of an issue. I use VS 2015 as my IDE, and have it set in Unity as the default editor. When I double click a script to open it, I get a window for Visual Studio 2010 shell that says “Invalid license data. Reinstall is required.”

I just reinstalled it and am still getting the same error and when it happens, it doesn’t stop trying to open the script. Unity gets stuck and I have to close everything and reopen.

Hi, check if you need to create an VS account (separate from Unity credentials) and sign in: Visual Studio Community 2015 - License has expired ?! - Unity Engine - Unity Discussions

I am using VS 2015 pro and am definitely signed in. It seems like it isn’t even opening 2015. The alert that I get is for VS 2010 shell, which I don’t use. I read that the shell can be necessary for opening some project files and things, so I reinstalled it anyways. I’m still getting the same error.
