To lay down some sort of my frustration: since almost a year I struggeling aorund Pro Builder who might be a great opportunity to have something to quikly build a prototype but even for that, in my opinion it is completly useless.
I always coming along the same issues that almost starterting causing problems in every project at some point:
Polygon shape just makes triangle and can’t extrude anymore
Meshrender just dissapear
ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null. ProBuilderMesh.cs - ProbuilderMeshFunction
At OS: can’t click any faces or verticies, even after several reinstalls of ProBuilder & Unity
Unity crashes while trying to setup a scenemangment system with ProBuilder Installed, without not
Doesn’t matter which Unity Versions or ProBuilder, I alway discovering the same issues. So I going back to third party 3d software.
I wondering what you guys have discorvered?
I can’t really belive that some games are totally made with Pro Builder (like the one in the “made by ProBuilder Video”) without any !main! issues like that (and I shipped already a game who was made almost entierly by ProBuilder).
Its the same with PLM, its just unusable for a real project. I feel very negative right now, but there are just too many tools that do not work for anything but small demos. I love Unity, please make it usable
Umm if you have an issue can you please actually submit a bug report, providing a reproduction case if possible, and then paste the case number here please?
Just complaining is doing nothing, your not helping the problem you just make it worse by doing nothing about it when only you, the person experiencing the bug, has the power to report it.
Software developers in any company do NOT base their issue log on comments on a forum. Provide them with bug reports or expect nothing to be done.
I already did bug reports and at some point I stopped because nothing happend and the same issues still accuerd again and again after updateds…this thread is not about complaing, I just wondering if I’m the only one (I don’t think so) and for me it doesn’t fit to unity to release something like ProBuilder, making commercials with it and it is still so broken that I barley can’t work with it.
Im using it absolutely fine without these issues in multiple unity versions, so no its not everyone, hence why bug reports are important. As is providing proper reproduction cases and being as helpful as you can to support to help them find and resolve the issue.
Just because you filed a bug report does not mean its going to be immediatly dealt with. Things accrue over time. The easier it is to reproduce your case and the more info you provide, and the more users experience it, the quicker it will get dealt with.
post DETAILS! If you are only going to post “It’s broke! It sucks!” Don’t bother posting.
In addition to 2, put in some effort to solve your problem, search the forums for similar problems, search google, file bugs, etc. It is important to realize that you aren’t the only person in the world using Unity. Really, you aren’t. Because you are struggling with something doesn’t mean it “broken” and “unusable”. While certainly there maybe be some bugs and challenges with all software, hyperbolic ranting is NEVER the answer.
Closing because thread is pointless, is in the wrong area and contains no useful information.
