FORUM | PLAYABLE DEMO (old version 1, but the performance is nearly identical as the new 7km demo, which uses 2gb of VRAM total instead of 1gb). Tests on GTX 1080 at HD resolution runs 200+ FPS out-the-box with batching turned on in deferred rendering in BIRP. This is with the camera distance set to the full length of the level (3,000m+) at night time . There is plenty of performance headroom to expand as needed. VR developers will like how game objects are logically parented for Unity API based mesh combining tools and scripts. The new demo scene is in the project.

A preliminary overview of the upcoming doors update for OWA City Core.

Another update to the hinged door system in-progress.

  • New sounds created and added when door opens
  • Double hinged doors added with sound
  • Improved custom trigger colliders for hinged doors opening towards the player. For example, in the video you will see that the player must be next to the door knob for the door to open inward, thus avoiding getting pushed back gently by the door for rigibbody controllers maximum pass through avoidance non physics based controllers).

Animated hinged doors are complete live on the store. Sliding doors will follow shortly, along with super structures and extrusions for the OWA Buildings Library. It’s pretty cool. Here’s a work in progress…

Coming Soon! OWA Skyscrapers 01

Unlike any building asset currently available. These monstrous super structures tower above the city streets below, reaching new heights previously unattempted for skyscraper buildings with interiors.

The basic base buildings are optimized combined meshes utilizing best use of vertical vertices and a trim sheet atlas. The tallest building is less than 33k vertices for 150+ stories, inlcuding interior. This is crazy good for what it delivers! Careful thought and planning went into this kit, just like all of the OWA Buildings & Kits.

Each building has a cut-out large enough for elevators and emergency stairs. No elevators are included because this is something very dependent on each controllers’ “moving platform” functionality.

The interiors are complete shells with snap-in compatibility with all other OWA building kits, doors, and building add-ons ready for custom build-outs. These are ready-to-go if you want to add street level retail shops. Everything I make snaps into place like an awesome dream.

  • Full playable interiors
  • Awesome VRAM performance in the OWA City Core ecosystem. (Only about 2gb for espansive extreme worlds that test the limits of detailed open worlds)
  • Everything is atlased and batchable out of the box.
  • Awesome expandability of detail with universal shop kits, props, interior decor, and more
  • Intelligent usage of vertices and textures to get the most detail for the performance possible.

(Screenshots in built-in render pipeline with no effects.

This is available right now for only $37.50. It’s not going to get any better than this. It’s just ridiculous how good of a deal this is.

Another bundle containing a huge library of beautiful and optimized props. Thousands of props currently available on a new release discount!

Completed and pending review. A preview demo of these new exciting greebles are expected to be live to the base OWA City Core Package in the next few

Highly optimized prop prefabs that snap onto buildings, walls, ceilings, or floors.

There are 78 new greeble props total, these pictures are just a small example of the new addition.

Hello, this assets looks amazing, but I have a few questions.

Does every building are Modular? For example: The Wall, Corner and Window…

If the building is modular, what is the length and thickness of the walls and windows? My game is a top-down game, do the walls look normal when viewed from the top? (No backface culling)
If possible, could you send me a wall prefab to try it out? Because $650 not a small number. My email is: ge.*****@gmail.com.

Could you add some destroyed building parts in the future? Especially the external structures such as walls and windows. Because I want to use it in a post-apocalyptic or war game.

Thank you very much.

@kehaw ,

Thank you very much and glad to hear you are interested

Most of the buildings (and building power-up add-ons) are 100% modular. They also come with combined versions and modular versions (to quickly build custom layouts without starting totally from scratch).

The modular parts for each building are in the following picture and include: wall door, door trim/frame, regular wall, window, window trim/frame, window grille, glass, pillar, pillar top bottom floor wall/window/door trim(s), top wall trim, and second story bottom wall trims. The following picture is from OWA Building Pack 01 (just one of the huge building packs included in OWA City Core. The only buildings that are not 100% modular are the very tall skyscraper buildings and some of the sci-fi/cyberpunk buildings. The majority of the buildings in OWA City Core are modular and great for your top-down usage.

The walls/windows/doors are exactly 4 meters length and 0.25 meters thickness. The windows approximately 2.5-5 centimeters thick (sized like most real glass). Every modular building part snaps together perfectly on a 1 meter grid or better. Larger combined building modules work with even easier snapping grids depending on its size like 2 meters, 4 meters, 8 meters, etc.

My building kits also work great for top-down. The walls look normal for top-down games. I am also a game developer and technical artist so my kits are 100% developed with every view angle and performance considered.

Aside from general architectural additions, the “trim” modular parts and “pillar caps” make make it so there is no “backface culling”. These will work for your project as you described. I build every thing to be close as possible to 100% vertices efficiency. So, each wall comes default culling what they player does not see. This way, on a fully built building, there is 0 waste for rendering performance…

For top down game uses, the trim and pillar caps are separate modular prefabs are used to “seal off” the tops to make them look natural. As a bonus, this also allows flexibility to mix and match modular kits together for nearly infinite combination possibilities. A lot of thought and experience was put into my kits.

Yes, I want you to make sure OWA City Core is a good fit for your project. I will email you and so we can discuss further details. I also take customer privacy and IP development confidentiality extremely serious so if you want to get into further specific details, we can do that there.

Yes. I will be making post apocalyptic variations that include both damaged modular building meshes and additional damaged textures. These post-apocolyptic themed kits will be modularly compatible with non-damaged destroyed parts/kits.

For the adjusting the materials to look “old” or “damaged”, simply drag a damged “detail” texture onto the building atlas material…real fast and easy. For damaged mesh versions of the modular building kits, I still need to make those. If you purchase and confirm your invoice number, I can adjust the roadmap that works best for you (and my other customers) immediately.

For the roadmap, please note that I put confirmed existing customer requests first when adjusting the order that I complete the roadmap. It’s first come first serve to be as fair as possible.

Right now, I am currently finishing up the the expanded interiors/props portion of the roadmap. I am making very good/fast progress on this so don’t worry! Per the current schedule, I could have the damaged modular meshes completed before the end of this year, probably around December 10th, 2024. That is what the timeline looks like as of right now.

Absolutely, you’re welcome! Also, thank you very much also for your interest in OWA City Core. I understand it might seem expensive at first glance, but it really is a good value. It is expertly crafted for real-time gaming and provides everything you need to make an entire game environment. This is awesome because everything looks good together, snaps together, and is very performant together. You can’t get that by buying a bunch of different assets and bashing them together so in the scope of making most games, it’s much less expensive especially when you consider the time and performance you will save.
