This post is currently awaiting moderation... what should I do?!

So when I got up this morning, I did a bit of programming and got stuck at something. So I made a thread in ‘Answers’ and on top of my newly made thread I got the message: “This post is currently awaiting moderation. If you believe this to be in error, contact a system administrator.” which has been over 8 hours now. And I’ve seen others post in ‘Answers’ all day long.
How come I get this? And what can be done to order for my thread to be visible in ‘Answers’? I’ve been waiting all day while trying to do other things, but I really need the assistance to move forward with my project.
I know it says that I should contact a system administration (not sure how to) but I tried to reach a moderator, but that didn’t go to well…

You could always ask @hippocoder , I find him a reliable mod to go to.

You could always ask me about your problem too, if it’s something I know about or can fix up, I can help fix it up.

Answers has community members who can approve moderated questions. This can take 24 hours. If you post into the Help Desk area then questions are not moderated at all. Users with less than 15 karma points have their questions and answers approved before appearing online.

Oh, that seems really tedious  I guess I’ll have to use the forum in the future then.

Hello, and thanks for replying! I don’t know if you can see my post (it’s still awaiting moderation): http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/1079791/how-to-make-a-space-ship-fly-after-crosshair.html and I’m pretty stuck there  or else I’ve made a new post here: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/need-help-with-quaternion-rotation-3rd-person-mouse-follow.360383/

Why is the community approving posts from new users tedious?

The wait time is tedious compared to one’s post just being posted straight ahead.

Decided to answer one of your questions the best I could. I used to get the moderator thing too, but not anymore.

I’m afraid Answers is out of my reach, I only assist people on forums :frowning:

Really? Damn… Not sure who to recommend then.

All of those strange people around you. It could be anyone. It’s mostly community driven.

So as Graham already mentioned, you can post directly into the Help Room without it having to go through moderation. If you read the FAQ and User Guide you can learn about how the site works.

Sometimes I also get the “having to go through moderation” in the Help Room and sometimes my comments on replies doesn’t show… E.g. http://answers.unity3d.com/answers/1086739/view.html

This is strange, thanks for sending over the post so I can have a dig.

Karma requirements were added back to the Help Room several weeks ago after thousands of spam messages were posted. It was supposed to be temporary but I’ve not heard any updates on that. There are a ton of usability problems with the big update they did to UA a while ago. Problems that make moderation a huge headache, and… tedious if you will.

There seems to rarely be anyone doing moderation on the weekends so posts often build up and then get cleared out early in the week. I try to stay on top of the moderation during the week and there are a few others who do as well. But, real job, real life, etc.

The 2 karmapoints requirement for the Help Room were there for a couple of days, I had a notification up on the site while this was in place. We are experiencing several issues with permissions at the moment, and are tweaking things continuously to figure out the root cause. It could be that I set the spam protection too strict or these could be actual bugs, working on getting this fixed by looking at the individual posts that get sent to moderation when they shouldn’t.

Okay, thanks. I didn’t realize that had been removed again. I do see the occasional post through moderation that goes into the help room. Possibly related to the other permission issues then.

It went to the modq.

I’m still getting the “This post is currently awaiting moderation. If you believe this to be in error, contact a system administrator.” message… I got 10 points, so I shouldn’t be getting this anymore in the Help Room… right?

And a little off topic… is there a way to get a name change?

Hi guys,

Can somebody please accept my post?

Thanks.
