Hello everybody.
Actually subject and problem: realize the data transmission interface between Unity3d and Qt applicataions, of course in runtime (all run on one computer).
Reason: Impossibility to creat certified non-game GUI with tables, schedules, etc.
Now i think about:
- Sockets
- Shared memory
Questions:
- There are any else options or technology?
- Witch one the easiest in realization?
- Work time (speed of transfer data)?
- Cross-platform support?
Great thanx!
Ouch sounds like you are in for some fun!
I have created tables etc in Unity GUI, its not that hard. If you are really set on QT then I would suggest using Sockets or maybe look at remoting in .net - .NET Remoting Overview | Microsoft Learn
Big advantage using the network, you can separate the GUI and Unity on 2 different machines etc. Potential for more than 1 GUI front end and all sorts of fun
You will likely get some small delay between GUI and application but as long as its not a twitch game/application it should be fine.
