I love the new changes to the gameplay window. It’s nice to be able to undock it and choose various aspect ratios.
However, what I need to do is set the size of that window to the settings I have under Edit>Project Settings>Player, and I can’t seem to find any option to do that in the game window drop-down or anywhere else. Not only is it necessary to be able to choose a custom aspect ratio, but in addition, it’s an absolute basic need to be able to define the actual screen resolution, as in (pixels) X (pixels). In trying to do things like position 3D gui elements, I need to be able to move objects in the work view while looking at their placement in the game view camera in order to line them up correctly.
To restate the problem: what I’m looking for is a “use player settings resolution” button for the game camera window.
In order to get an accurate game view, my current workflow is to move an object, build and run an external player, guess at how far the object is off, then rinse, lather, and repeat, ad infinitum.
I’m posting here instead of filing a bug because I realize that I may just be missing something(I often do). If that’s so, I appreciate any hints anyone wants to throw my way.
Oh, and there’s also a bug with 2.5 not actually building correctly when using nonstandard settings, but that’s a separate issue which I just filed a bug on.
