Unity Asset Store Youtube videos blocked – Cookie Settings does nothing

I cannot watch any YouTube videos on the Unity Asset Store because the “Cookie Settings” button is broken.
Clicking it does nothing.. no popup, no overlay, nothing. This means I cannot accept targeting cookies and the videos stay permanently blocked.

I tested this on Brave, Firefox, and Edge. Same result everywhere. Clearing cookies, disabling shields, even allowing third-party cookies makes no difference. The issue is clearly on Unity’s side, not the browser.

Can this please be fixed? a good workaround could be just to provide the Youtube URL to users so we can at least copy that and paste it on a new tab. I would not mind at all doing this manually.

Please someone look at this!
THANKS!

And those browsers are set to default settings with no plugins/extensions installed?

Yes they are. Firefox for example was downloaded exclusively to test the asset store. Same result on all the browsers I tried.

Hi @Benfont, if page reload helps after cookie acceptance, it’s a known limitation.
If not, please record a video of the case, thanks!

Hi @Benfont!

I’m Storm from the Unity Customer Experience Team, and I’m sorry to hear that you encountered some issues when trying to view YouTube videos in our Asset Store!

I am unable to repro this error in Chrome and Safari, and the videos are playing for me without any issues.

Could you please try these browsers and let me know if you come across the same problem?

If the error persists, please contact the Customer Experience team with a screen recording, and we’ll do our best to help.

Please make sure you let us know your ticket number in this thread, so we can assist you as soon as possible.

Been years since the last time I’ve seem an youtube embed video working on the Unity Asset Store.

Everyone I tried sending a link to test to see if it worked in their end also reported the same.

The same button for Cookie Settings that does nothing when you click it, and no video, ever.

I’m on Firefox, but tried Edge and Vivaldi as well.

Hi @LUnityUsername,
here is the video of how that works on Firefox

After accepting or rejecting cookies, it’s required to refresh the page (as mentioned, this is a known limitation).

Can you try again using Chrome or Firefox and upload a video of your steps here if that doesn’t work?

Fixed. It’s a windows setting that blocks pop-ups. Allowing Unity Asset store to the use pop-ups fixes issue.

For anyone thats stumbles across this:
I found this thread which made me remember that my pc DNS and my notebooks VPN both runs through my PiHole…

Kinda insane that on every other side youtube embeds work perfectly fine.. and within the asset store we can’t even open the cookies settings panel.

This issue still isn’t resolved, insane
