Unity Editor Software Terms Update

Today, we released an update to the Unity Editor Software terms that removes language related to the Unity Runtime Fee, which we canceled on September 12. We also updated the terms to reflect the new financial thresholds for Unity plans. You can review the updated terms on our GitHub repository and at unity.com/legal.

ah! nice, unity 6 is released on October 17!

also question. this applies to unity 6 going forward,

the license with the runtime fee applies to 2023? Sorry if I’ve understood this wrong, but just to clarify and know to stay away of a specific version. There is any version that have the runtime fee license?

No, you’re not subject to the Runtime Fee, as it was never implemented. If you continue using your current version of the Editor software under the previously agreed terms, you won’t need to accept the new terms. However, changes to Unity plan pricing, tier eligibility, and financial thresholds will still apply to all users.

Also there is no “real” 2023 version - there were only preview releases and they got replaced by Unity 6 which has its full release on the 17th.
