When i start unity it says "No valid Unity Editor license found. Please activate your license."

which is exactly what i said

Was not made clear. – The link to download the Hub executable is absolutely buried on the page, and the first button on the page links you back to the editor download. Literally peak website design. Love it.

and someone even listed the link here. There limits to what people can do others on a forum

– Linking the executable directly or showing the button to Download the Hub is enough. Not blaming the users for the bad website design.

I experienced the same frustrating loop. I’m on Ubuntu 20.04, and its fairly straightforward to download and uncompressed the Linux x86 bundle. Inside is the executable “Unity”. Starting it only gives the, “No valid Unity Editor license found. Please activate your license.”
So, inferring that some piece is missing and it appears the only way to setup “Unity Hub” is to get a windows machine, download the UnityHubSetup.exe and somehow transferring the encrypted files back to the Ubuntu machine ? (still have not found documentation or website info regarding these details - only an infuriating loop of references to Download to Windows/or Mac)

Unity has chosen to “support” Linux with executable Editors, but left out the details of starting it.
The experience is poor, either support Linux or state clearly you don’t support Linux.

Install the Unity Hub | Unity Hub | 3.0 (unity3d.com)

Actually they do seem specific - as my day job is working with linux, however, they support redhat ubuntu, debian and centos, if you choose other variants, you are on your own and that seems quite clear

Got same problem in the latest version of Unity2022. I found that there was no such problem in the previous version.

well when i login to hub with email my issues was resolved.
my hub was log out. I did not saw that .

had the same problem, solved it by updating my unity hub. for the people in the future don’t forget to check if hub does not need to update

I have a mac it says the same pop up and the the only option is to exit anyone got a clue on how activate?

Delete Old License Files:

  • Navigate to:
    • Windows: C:\ProgramData\Unity
    • macOS: ~/Library/Application Support/Unity
  • Delete any config files.

Then open hub again
