Where's the Full Screen option for Game view in Unity 2022.2.1

Shift+space does nothing here

Shift+space toggles the game window between taking up most of the editor to whatever your normal config is, and back. So it’s closer to full screen but not the same as.

I agree with everybody else here, it’s pitiful that they took this feature away.

But not $22 pitiful (cost of the 3rd party addon that restores the functionality).

For anyone coming across this:
I created a FREE package that enables you to enter fullscreen in Unity 2022.3 and Unity 6.x. It might work in other unity versions as well. It does have some hiccups, read the known errors section on the repo page.

once installed press F12 while in playmode to switch into fullscreen.

If it helps your development please Star the project.
Thank you!

It’s 2 years later. Where is the feature? I’ve been waiting now for a build to compile for 7 hours and it’s still running … in edit mode I could create my video just fine, performance is okay. All I need is a 4K fullscreen mode.

Just remove those window borders and be done with it. There’s no sophisticated science involved.

I’ve created a quick hack for Unity 6 while I waste my personal life time waiting for a compile to be finished:

Bring back fullscreen mode please, even if one has to check some “developer” flag that indicates things might break.

Thank you so much, this works great on Unity 6.

Really weird unity doesn’t have this… ??? Did someone actually say in a meeting to get rid of it? I can’t even imagine what it’s like to work for people who do this.

The plus side is, the more stupid decisions the better Godot gets

Funny - almost two years later, I found this while looking to see if there was a solution now and remembered, “Oh yeah! I bought that asset like five years ago!”

Works like a charm, still, in Unity 6.

Since Shift+Spacebar stopped working in newer versions I’ve been double clicking the Game tab to maximize it.

Just came across this, you are a blessing <3

Still nothing on this ? Is that complicated? :open_mouth:

Unity is not going to pay for an engineer to build a feature that exists in the asset store, costs money, and they get a cut of the profit when people buy it. They do this because the people who run the company no no moral compass and are only motivated to pursue short term profits.

There are a large number of example of bugs or missing basic features in Unity that have gone years without being addressed. People need to realize that Unity is a short-term profit driven company. I don’t think they have a future. If they did, then they would invest in implementing basic features or bug fixes. But instead of doing that, they do mass layoffs to cut costs. I think Godot and Unreal Engine probably have a better future.

This is unfair to Unity. They bought Textmesh pro and Mechanim, didn’t they? They created their own Spline package, their own GPU accelerated light mapper and many more.
