Wwise Webgl

I found an old 2012 unity feature request: Unity Feedback - Web player support for Wwise
This was declined with “We do not plan to integrate WWise into the engine”.

Probably a lot has changed since the unity web player era, are there any plans on bringing Wwise to the WebGL platform as it is one of the biggest audio middleware in the market.
There is a converter that small projects can maybe use to produce WebGL builds, but as the author puts it: “The objective of this tool isn’t to reproduce Wwise”: https://github.com/Aredhele/WwiseUnityAudio

It would be a game-changer for game-jam projects as FMOD’s free license doesn’t allow more than one game a year.

Totally agree. I was looking up to see if it’s changed

Wwise is not a Unity product. It’s owned by a different company. AFAIK the wwise plug-in uses native libraries, which cannot be converted into Javascript.

I have an update from Audiokinetic.

They are keeping an eye on Web Audio APIs and waiting for the underlying tech to catch up with their needs. They intend on supporting as full a featureset of Wwise as possible for the web in the future.
