Hi guys!. I hope, I’m being in the right place to post my question regarding monitor here.
I’m looking to buy at least a QHD monitor and 24 Inch screen size. And I’m willing to spend a maximum of 300 dollars or 250 euro (hence I live in Germany), I don’t care if it’s a used or new monitor.
So, my research has brought me to these options:
-Philips 276E8VJSB 4K, 27 Inch, 10-Bit Color depth
-BenQ PD2500Q QHD, 25 Inch, 8-Bit Color depth
-BenQ GW2765HT QHD, 24 Inch, 10-Bit Color depth
They have at least 99% sRGB coverage, as far as I know, some even more.
Do I need to give attention to delta E, sRGB coverage, and color depth?
If I do need to, then in which attribute I should pay attention to?
Which Monitor should I choose based on the options above?
This would probably be more fitting to post in the general discussion forum.
However my personal preference for work monitors is IPS over VA or TN, which all of those are. “8 bit” vs “10 bit” is a weird one because most likely all of those panels are actually only 8 bit, but they might be using software to dither 10 bit inputs. This also only maters if you’re planning on outputting a 10 bit video signal from your computer, which requires outputting in HDR (which none of those displays support) or using a professional GPU (Quadro or Radeon Pro). Consumer GPUs only output 8bit color anyway.
sRGB coverage is close to 99% for almost all monitors these days, that’s not super impressive. DC3 or Adobe RGB coverage numbers are more interesting, but only really super important if you’re doing photo editing, and using 10 bit output. Delta E values under 3~4 mean you’re unlikely to notice it unless, again, you’re a photographer.
The real issues you want to pay attention to are black levels, uniformity, light leaking, and real grey to grey times (not the ones advertised which are almost always 100% marketing bull). All of the above monitors are “fine” in these regards.
Hey @stanleykell651 . I think any monitor with High Resolution will work well for you. You must go with 2K or 4K resolution monitors. Or you can go with ultra wide monitors. I would suggest you to go with LG 27UK850-W monitor or BenQ SW2700PT monitor. Both were awesome.
Or you can refer to this buying guide where you will get some extra suggestions for your monitors. Cheers!
