We were given the task of “re-inventing” the Monster Generator for Dreamworks without the paper doll parts that are so common. They wanted a living breathing creature at the end of the experience that could move and animate.
Our answer was a 3D experience in Dr. Cockroach’s circular lab where rotate through various “stations” mixing and matching monster ingredients to personalize a creature of your own.
Due to the tight deadline, we’ve got a rather heavy version of the game up right now. Be patient on the download. The team has a version with asset streaming working, and we expect that to go up soon with the international language versions.
That’s really really well done. Only thing is, I had an issue with something hanging down in front of the camera and obscuring the view, as you can see below. Any time the camera moved, this always happened.
Thanks for the heads up. We saw this on the iPhone port of the game. It’s related to non-power of two textures and the use of DrawLabel vs DrawTexture.
@ahloyan check out the tutorials, and ask specific questions in the support section. Asking such questions here is going off-topic, and isn’t respectful to the original poster, especially in showcase.
People will be happy to answer you in the support forum.
Congrats! One thing I noticed was that hitting Fullscreen from right click menu didn’t work. Screen goes black but then returns to normal. Whereas fullscreen from game GUI does work.
Look forward to seeing how your iPhone port turns out.
I tried to play the game, but when I download the Unity Web Player or, it just keeps saying that I need to download it. What is wrong with it? If I downloaded unity web player, then why isn’t it letting me create a monster?
I have a problem similar to Kjd6987’s. For the past two days, I’ve been trying so hard to use monster creator. But no matter how much I download, I still can’t use it. I’m a mega Monsters vs Aliens Fanatic, I need to play this. Please, I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me get onto it.
