Error in Unity video: "The complex lit shader...adds Anisotropy for brushed metal or hair; It supports Subsurface Scattering..."

This video says the complex lit shader for URP support anisotropy and SSS, this isn’t correct is it? I can’t find any documentation on this.

Was this something planned for Unity 6 that was forgotten about? Or part of some package?

Humorously, there was a an article in the URP manual for the URP complex lit shader, but when you read further down, it’s actually about the regular lit shader. I wonder if they’re using AI to write documentation, or maybe it’s a copy/paste error.

Thats the old article, from way back in Unity 2022, probably like right after they added it. So maybe they just copy and pasted lol. (EDIT: NVM they were just really lazy at the time lmao, the only real difference tho is clear coat which it mentions it’s just the images are the basic lit)

Unity - Manual: Complex Lit shader material Inspector window reference for URP

The proper one now is in the docs, but there’s no mention of any of these features.

Oops, yeah I had thought that was the relevant version because it was the first google hit, which is a bad assumption.

I looked at the video again and it does say “Universal Render Pipeline/Complex Lit” but they don’t demonstrate any of these features in the video, nor do they click the “surface types” drop down so we can see if they’re there. They could be planned for the future but maybe the person is reading copy from the HDRP script or something.
