Hi everyone,
I’m having trouble activating my Unity license through Unity Hub. I was advised by the Unity Hub support bot to delete the cache in order to resolve the activation issue, but It didn’t resolve the problem. I’m from IRAN and ofcourse we are banned from everywhere but I used to be able to do it before, now I used different vpns to maybe activate the license. I can Sign in from the hub but I can not activate my personal license.
Can someone please help me on how to fix that ?
Here are a few details:
- Unity Hub Version: 3.10.0
- Operating System: Windows 11
- License Type: Personal
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Mohammad
probably it detects the vpn access, or your computer is not configured properly to connect to unity trough the vpn.
windows 11 is a pure spyware operating system and will redirect traffic out of the vpns route and some apps may use these routes.
try using a linux machine.
That’s BS and FUD.
If that were even remotely true, no corporation around the globe would use Windows 11.
You are likely mistaking the behaviour of a misconfigured network with a general Windows behaviour.

this part of your comment is illogical and falls under common logical fallacies. i will explain even if I believe you will not care.
first you assume that “corporations around the world” know about the issue. second you assume that if something is allowed then it is definitely not malicious. this type of argument is illogical and i will prove it right now with this example:
tiktok it is currently banned on all devices owned by the federal government in US. (and some other countries). But before this it was allowed. So it was in the state you have used in your comment. Then it was found to be a problem and was banned.
I will write now the definition for “spyware”: “any malware that aims to gather information about a person or organization and send it to another entity in a way that harms the user by violating their privacy, endangering their device’s security, or other means.”
Microsoft is currently trying to train an AI model that, if successfully, will replace many types of jobs and businesses, obviously benefiting Microsoft that will replace these jobs and business with Microsoft own services. To do this they need to collect as much information as possible. In the end this information will damage the user/business from whom the information was collected from. For example by bankrupting business that used the windows11 ,and helped the AI learn! what those business did with windows11. Same for an user or a developer like you. When the AI learns from you, how you do your job, no one will pay you to do it, they will use the AI. This it checks the spyware definition on the “collect information” and “damage the user” part.
mistake or not, unity can’t do business with Iran because of sanctions, so they have checks in place to ensure they comply with the US law. the hub figured out the information about the location because windows11 provided that info cancelling his vpn attempt of hidding it. which is perfectly fine from unity point of view because they need to comply with the US laws(is US corporation), but that further proves my point that windows11 is spyware (the OS collecting info damaging the user = OP can’t use unity)
hope is clear
That rethorical style is not an argument but rather falls in line with philosophical reasoning, much like “you can’t prove that god does not exist, therefore god exists”. It’s most certainly not proving anything.
You imply that corporations around the globe are unaware of or oblivious to an issue of such immense scale. Yet, you, random person on the Internet, know about the issue and willingly share it with us. That style of writing has conspiracy theory written all over it.

Yet, you, random person on the Internet know is not true and windows is not a spyware
anyway, we leave it at this. I’m not trying to change what you believe.
