I’ve been trying to dip my feet into using Unity and C# for the sake of developing games, however, I have barely any knowledge of how to use the coding language or Unity, and stuff like programming camera controls ends up being too hard for me.
I want to learn how to program video games but I don’t know how to. Does anyone have any advice on how to start out or recommend any good courses on how to learn Unity and C#?
Just go to unity’s official site called unity learn(link in the ending), they start off by making you comfortable with the UI of the software then teach you programming from the base level, using this, it took me about 2 weeks - 1 month to learn unity
Under the learning pathways you should do Unity essentials and Junior programmer courses and then go on to learn more from youtube
The website estimates 14 weeks but I feel like even if you go really slow you can be done with 10, dont get disheartened if you take more time tho

Heres the link-

You can also search udemy for courses, as they have lots of unity and C# classes and though they are pricey, they often go on sale.
It’s perfectly normal to be that way, Unity devs here would be clueless in Unreal Engine, every new thing require a learning curve so don’t be disappointed. Simply start learning the basics and do it for fun first, until you’ve gained a sizeable amount of knowledge then you can try making a game, this was already suggested but Unity Learn is a great place to start.
When I was starting to learn out, I would just go onto YouTube and find some tutorials for various games and then follow along. That way I would learn how various things work and the layout of the editor. Then once you have basic knowledge, if you don’t know how to do something specific you can always look it up and most of the time someone has a post or tutorial on how to do it.
Idk if it would be useful for everybody, but my friend has asked me to show him how to create games in Unity. I don’t have enough time to explain everything, so I’ve just created a Telegram channel with simple examples and code snippets. Maybe it would be useful for you too.
