Invalid .json

I was trying to get the 2d extras add on through the GitHub GitHub - Unity-Technologies/2d-extras: Fun 2D Stuff that we'd like to share!, it said that I needed to add a line “com.unity.2d.tilemap.extras”: “GitHub - Unity-Technologies/2d-extras: Fun 2D Stuff that we'd like to share!” to manifest.json in the packages section, so I did that as well as place the file in the location, but then I got an error message on unity that said the manifest.json file is not a valid json. I tried moving the addon file out of the project and removing the line I added to manifest.json, but I still have the error message.

post your manifest.json, it’s probably just missing a semicolon or similar

it looks like .json file types are not allowed to be uploaded onto here, so this is the text copied and pasted.

I cannot spot an obvious issue. Try opening that file in your IDE, it should have syntax checking for json files so maybe it‘ll highlight the faulty line.

Or the manifest.json isn‘t the one Unity complains about. It must be in the project‘s Packages folder.

I decided to close and re-open the project and that somehow fixed it.
