Minimum MacOS X version

Hello,

I just bought an old mac to test our game on it using minimal settings. The unity player is stated to require at a minimum MacOS X 10.9. Indeed the game works after I installed that particular version, but we have some graphical glitches. I’m not sure if the bug comes from our shaders or some of our rendering, but I never saw those glitches on any other platform or hardware so far.

I was wondering if anyone had encountered graphical glitches running unity apps on old versions of MacOS X ?

I started an upgrade to MacOS X 10.11 to see if it fixes the issue, so that we can set a minimum version of MacOS X to 10.11 on the stores. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any videos of the glitches before starting the process, oops!

We had the bug on the intro of two of our levels, it looked like triangles getting crazy and all white/black, going over the whole screen. I’d say at first it was particles because we have snow in the first level but the other level exhibiting the issue doesn’t have such black/white particles anywhere. Nor any texture looking all white or all black, actually…

Upgrade to 10.11 didn’t fix anything.

It glitches only for a frame or two, the rest of the game runs fine, as far as I could test.

Machine specs:
OS X El Capitan or Mavericks
i3 3.2GHz
4GB DDR3
Radeon HD 5670 512MB
https://support.apple.com/kb/SP588

Build specs:
Unity 5.6.3p4 from windows
OpenGL (afaik, didn’t check, do mavericks and el capitan have any other choice anyway?)

Reproduced it in editor 5.6.5p1 ! Going step by step, the rendering goes crazy, and once I move the mouse out of the window, it becomes normal… So it definitely sounds like a unity bug, I’ll try to make a slim project exhibit the issue and report it through the proper channels.
