My Collab projects were not automatically migrated to Plastic SCM?

Hi, due to personal reasons I have not been able to work on my Unity projects for the last year. I now have some time to get back to them, only discover Unity has switched from Collab to Plastic. According to the documentation I should install a compatible version of Unity and my projects will be automatically upgraded.

When I try that I keep getting following error:
[Collab] Collab service is deprecated and has been replaced with Plastic SCM

So I tried to create a new project from the cloud, assuming my active projects were automatically migrated to Plastic SCM, since I am paying my monthly fees. Yet it does not seem like anything was migrated?? I.e. after creating a project from the cloud the asset folder is empty?

Where are my projects that were backed up in Collab for which I have been paying a monthly fee? Did they not get automatically transferred to Plastic SCM?

What am I doing wrong? Please help!

Hmm, upon further investigation it seems only one project (my main one), did not migrate correctly. The others seem to be correct, based purely on visual inspection via dashboard. I had a local copy of my main project, which I have now started to submit to the cloud. I need to do it in stages as it gave me an error when I tried to do the whole thing. However I have no revision history now.

Questions:

  • Did you not verify all projects were successfully migrated before deprecating the collab service?
  • Why did you not send any emails before or after the migration so that I could check and verify everything went ok? I only ever received a single email about Plastic SCM, which was dated 10/26/2021, long before the migration. It made no mention of deadlines.
  • Is there any way to fix the project that has missing data?

Hi,

Collab was deprecated a few months ago and all the projects were already migrated to Plastic SCM. If you let me know your email, I will check but you should be able to login at www.plasticscm.com and review your Plastic cloud organization (assuming it’s still there).

We sent a few communications to the users informing the when the migration and Collab deprecation was happening.

If you were using Collan for free the same discounts should be applied to your Plastic subscription migrated from Collab.
Also, there is still a free tier for new Plastic / Unity Version Control users.
