Our high-tech building model for Unity Industry demos is now available
Hey Unity Industry community!
We’re excited to announce the public release of the Unity Tower, our new high-rise building model – a sophisticated 40+ floor mixed-use tower designed from the ground up to help you test and showcase Unity’s data streaming and BIM capabilities.
The model was created by an architect based in Australia, to reflect the Unity logo in its design and appearance.
This asset was built to mirror the complexity of real-world AEC projects and is the perfect testbed for large-scale data handling.
What’s inside the Unity Tower:
- Massive scale: 80+ million triangles
- Real-world federation: Includes separate, federated models for architectural, structural, MEP, facade, and interior disciplines
- Rich detail: Features complex and detailed MEP systems, furnished interiors, facade details, and a fully realized building structure
- Mixed-use design: Office spaces, hotel facilities, retail, and Unity rooftop bar
- Industry-standard: Built in Autodesk Revit and using BIM standards for metadata and naming conventions
Why it’s great for testing:
You get the ability to view the BIM model directly in the browser using Unity’s Asset Manager.
It includes BIM-compatible collaboration and review tools to help speed up your team’s iterations.
It supports BIM-to-runtime workflows.
It works across multiple platforms: Desktop, mobile, and the web.
The Unity Tower contains four Building Zones:
- Ground floor: Reception, showroom, restaurant spaces
- Office levels: Corporate environments with conference rooms
- Hotel floors: Guest rooms and hospitality facilities
- Rooftop: Optional space for a Sky bar and a rooftop infinity pool
The model uses standard Revit families and comes with separate discipline files (Architectural, Structural, MEP, Facade and Interior), just like real-world projects.
Access
You can access the Unity Tower in three primary ways:
- Preview in the Asset Manager here: Explore the model instantly in our web viewer to inspect the details and structure. It requires that you are logged into a Unity account.
- Here is how you can prepare the asset for 3DDS :
1.1 Add this asset to your project
1.2 From your project, select edit asset
1.3 Navigate to files
1.4 Edit the Source Dataset and select 3D Model type
1.4 Select Prepare for 3D Data Streaming from the contextual menu of the Source Dataset.
- Stream into your project: Use the 3D Streaming package to load the tower directly into your own Unity scene.
- View in the Industry Viewer Template: View the Unity Tower using our Industry Viewer Template. It offers an extended experience based on Unity Asset Manager, enabling users to connect to Asset Manager’s features easily and with minimal project setup requirements.
This asset represents lots of work to create an authentic, complex building that mirrors what Industry customers work with daily. We hope it helps you prototype, demo, and push Unity’s Industry tools to their limits.
Have fun!
