Reflection Probes in URP projects reflection outside of its box?

I’m having trouble understanding how reflection probes are supposed to work in URP.

I set up a simple interior scene, and placed a reflection probe with a small Box size. What I expect is only objects inside the probe’s bounding box should receive reflections - Isn’t that right? That is the behaviour in HDRP, at least.

Instead what’s happening is the whole room receives the reflection and the size of the box doesn’t seem to matter.

See below - notice I am turning the probe on/off. With the current placement of the probe, I expect this probe to do absolutely nothing, as no part of its box intersects any mesh. and yet…

If I drag the probe outside of the room completely, then the room no longer receives reflections.

This is using Unity 2021.2.0b13 with URP 12.

Do you have these ticked in the URP asset file?

I did not. Now I do, and it works! Thanks!

I feel like there should be some kind of yellow warning box on the probe inspector if you got Box Projection turned on, but dont have it enabled in the URP Asset…

My reflection probes always bake black, could this be why?

And before you ask, yes I have the objects in the scene marked as static, it should at least get the skybox from the clear flags but no, its black. Yes, Ive set the clipping distance. i have 2 forward renderers if that makes a difference.

@transporter_gate_studios I saw you reply to another one of my threads which was about HDRP - this thread is about URP, which render pipeline are you working on?

URP 10.7
