The new store ranking seem way different than the old store one, is it a bug?

This is how our assets are looking currently under the old ranking system, 1st is the Environment Bundle, 2ond the smaller Bundle, 3rd is Lumina, 4rth ORION, 5th Ethereal 2024 and 6th Oceanis 2024

In the new ranking in publisher page, now the 1st is 11th, the 2ond is 3rd, the 3rd is 5th, the 4th is same, the 5th is 1st and the 6th is 24th !

By sales in last 12 months

Environment Bundle
(22.3%)

Lumina 2024
(16.6%)

Ethereal 2024
(9.25%)

Sky Master ULTIMATE
(7.5%)

Sky Weather Bundle
(5.9%)

InfiniCLOUD
(3.8%)

LIQUA Pro Volumetric Fluids URP - HDRP
(1%)

Ethereal 2021
(1.4%)

How can you put Environment Bundle below these last three assets in the ranking in my publisher page ?

How does that make any sense ? Same how Ethereal 2021 is above all the other assets like Lumina 2024 when did only 1.4% versus 16.6% of sales with Lumina 2024 ?

The ranking is completely wrong.

About rating, when i rank by 5 stars

and when by 4 stars

My Sky Master ULTIMATE assets at 4.7 score is gone from 5 star search, while is way closer to 5 stars than 4 stars, and is made to appear like is a 4 star asset.

When rank by rating in our publisher page, our top popular assets with 4.6 and 4.7 scores are lowest in list (both Sky Master versions, the Environment Bundle and InfiniGRASS)! Another absolutely crazy result and ranking and are way below at least 11 of our more irrelevant much less selling or scoring assets.

These are Unacceptable things, we can’t continue in the store like that.

You can’t change what was working for 10+ years now with something clearly wrong and completely broken and expect publishers to remain in the store.

These changes is like telling us to go away.

Either our top assets are clearly set on the rankings and listings top, or is not possible to have a business in the store. Would not make any sense to do this kind of effort to just push it 1000 pages behind at random in all rankings.

Hi,

Can you please restore the old page in our publisher page ?

My most popular asset is listed way below other ones. Here is the old normal store ranking, which also coincides with the revenue and sales.

And how it is in my publisher page

Thank you in advance

This is Very Urgent as has essentially halted all sales

I noticed the ranking looks more correct now, thanks for fixing this, i attach a photo for reference.

Also can you please fix as priority to change pages and asset count with the page link like below ? The link below wont change page or item count like before, it always defaults to 24 items and page 1.

Thank you in advance

Maybe I’m wrong ( probably ) but this looks like a " math " problem..

Problem is Star number is more important then " user count " ..

SO looking at some of these pics … you can have 3 users that give a Full 5 stars .. so until a
4 th user goes ummm 4 stars… only then it looks like " more closer " to the page of assets you
happen to be looking at… I know I am saying this wrong .. BUT …

IT seems to me the BOT should be considering 2 things at once … stars ( bc it has to ) ..BUT number of
users .. is not being calculated at all it looks like… SO point is .. ( as example ) ..
you could have say 3000 users , that mostly give 5 stars , but some give 4 and 3 stars … throw in a few 2 stars and it makes the asset look bad.. when in fact hunders of users say its 5 stars.

SO what is the bot doing ? how is it calculating spots ? To me is has to be USER count .. then do the
star add up average rating … SO stars have a certain value .. BUT to be fair the number of users made those stars , so there must be some way of saying X amount of total users … = this much " star power "

to me this is obvious just looking at the screen … BUT it would be my argument that for Unity , it might be in the best interest to have \ show assets that have thousands of users , and not be put lower then an asset with 6 perfect review.

Please forgive if my thinking is not quite right on this .. I have grade 10 math … avoided math like the plague when I was young… and still DO !!

The problem is not just that assets with only 3 reviews will show above assets with 1000 reviews, but that assets scored 4.5 to 4.75 are now categorized as 4 star ones.

So users are no longer exposed to 50% or more of the top assets, even if have 1000 reviews, if they are scored even little below 4.75.

Which is beyond crazy in my mind and i dont see how it helps anyone. Users get exposed to half the top assets or less, Unity makes half money as the top assets are more likely to sell etc

Plus this makes it much harder to keep supporting the complex code assets, if any efforts and 4.7 scores wont produce any sales, so assets will die out by default, independent of their quality.

Yes, I do not know of how the math should work. But I am saying \ thinking ,
with this star system now Point system , what ever can bring down a well established asset …

logic has to say, something seems wrong here. So, to me, go back to the older
star scoring system .. But also even if i don’t have an NDA, it is pretty easy to see that
the star \ review system can be gamed if your intent is fully on that.

My, main point was that the star " Value " is wrong. Star value in my mind has to be a
floating number … the star gets " more power " as it gets more Reviews …

Less reviews the star has less value … more review the star power gets more value ?
So that assets have a " true value " that means total users , plus the stars they give as
a total. ? again idk if i am saying this right or if the math is right…

Seems to me, the focus should be more on total users, but that would be sort by popularity maybe ,
But many people do not do multiple sorting options…

A user would rightly assume imho that Unity default sorting system is the best and most used\common.

EDIT: rereading this … if this was all true ( do total users \ then assign the star power… there might be a small problem come up … many users complain about this… " unity 5 assets showing at top of results or Dead\dying assets " … so the problem might be like a dev that does has\water VFX … makes a newer even better remake of their asset ( except this situation they would have users that know about their asset ) SO a situation might come up that new asset ( well know dev ) this asset has 5 stars ) But lower user numbers bc asset new … ) Maybe that last part of the equation, might be " time " … stars over time , life time of asset or last 6 ? months ? last 12 months ? , so that way , " dying assets " aren’t pushed by the bot, and you don’t get users going.. why am I being shown this … its a dead or dying asset ,. ..SO maybe , the last 10 reviews on an asset … ( star have less power ) .. idk .. More coffee needed.

Yeah coffee hit… maybe it should be last 10 reviews have more power … this is so an asset that has had a lot of users .. but now the dev is gone and the asset dead or not updated… SO what happens is users get upset and go back and change or give review of 1 star with a review …" asset dead, don’t buy " … so maybe if time is involved .. " your only as good as your last quarter, " as they say in higher business.

SO, last 6 months maybe after the condition of the last update or something .. any way, this " math " is way above my grade 10 math.. Time maybe can be calculated by " last update " maybe , that way , good asset that have been around for a long time, still get " top billing "

So i hope this all makes some sense.
