We’re excited to kick off the public Beta for Unity 6.4 and start sharing weekly[1] builds with you for early testing! Visit our beta landing page for the latest beta releases and release notes, and make sure to enter our 6.4 Beta Sweepstakes when you submit bug reports during the beta for a chance to win one of three GPUs.
Through the 6-4-beta tag, you can discuss 6.4 pre-releases with us and the wider community on Unity Discussions. Our goal in sharing these pre-release versions is to identify and resolve remaining issues, improving overall quality before the official release.
Details
The purpose of the alpha and beta phases is to ensure that everything is working as expected before the developed Unity version is officially released. You can help by providing us with information about your user experiences.
If you discover that something is not working as expected, there are some measures you can take to get the issue addressed.
Reference issue IDs when you start a new topic about a bug. If a bug doesn’t have an ID yet and is unknown, make sure to submit a bug report first before writing about it here.
Please discuss separate issues in separate topics and avoid bundling, otherwise, the thread diverges really fast and becomes hard to track. It is OK to start multiple topics consecutively.
Please make the effort to ensure that the posted issue is the same as yours before assuming “me too”.
Topics that are not clearly related to a 6.4 feature/bug/regression shouldn’t be tagged with 6-4-beta.
If you have any questions or other feedback regarding the pre-release and its features, be it positive or negative, please let us know about it.
Thanks for participating in the alpha/beta!
Please note, that while we’re aiming for weekly releases, this cadence is not guaranteed as we may decide to skip releasing builds that include breaking issues or don’t include enough changes to justify dedicated releases. ↩︎
