Unity Gaming Services Project ID linked, Manager can see, User can't, affects local builds

Hi,

Today our team experienced something similar to Unable to access Unity services. Please log in, or request membership to this project to use these s but also different at the same time. One of my colleagues was attempting to do a local android build through the editor to test on device, and was receiving the message “Missing Project ID - Because you are not a member of this project this build will not access Unity services. Do you want to continue?” It was successfully building, but as warned the build failed to initialise the gaming services set up for the project. They are a member of the project with User access (inherited from the organisation access), whereas I have Manager access.

The Services General Settings screen indicates that they were unable to link the project to Unity Services, and refreshing access didn’t help. Attempting to use existing Project ID allowed them to select our organisation but not the project. My screen indicates that the project is linked correctly.

To test, I set their role to Manager, and once they refreshed the display updated, they could build without the warning, and the device test of that build worked perfectly.

My thought is that a User access should have read access to the linked Project ID, and a local device build should be able to connect through to Unity services. Linking everyone in the project as Manager role seems counter-productive to the security of the project settings. Keen for discussion on this problem though.

Cheers,
Ben

Hey @ben-calder and sorry to hear you are facing some difficulties,

Hey, there is a legacy bug that we are planning to address related to permission management. In the meanwhile you can add them as a user to the project specifically instead of as a user at the organization level and things should work. Let me know if that does the trick
