Why are none of the terrain painting/sculpting tools working?

As the title says …for some reason the sculpting and painting tools don’t work anymore…there is no brush its just a square that can get bigger and smaller…no matter what tool I choose…

I have never had this issue before…so not sure how to fix this… http://www.pasteall.org/pic/show.php?id=92003

Current Unity version: 5.1.2f1 Personal

I tried completely un-installing Unity…then re-installing Unity
I also tried rolling back a few times to Unity 5.0.0
I also tried a fresh project…nothing

How do I fix this?

Because the size of the brush is set to 1. That means one pixel, which is a square. Try increasing the brush size and see if that helps.

Check the terrain scale in terrain settings. Try to make it bigger. Hope it works
