My game has been successfully published for several years. To comply with Google Play’s requirements, I included Privacy Policy Hub as the link to “request data deletion” as this was suggested on the forums and there was no issue until this month.
I am now being told my game is not compliant and am unable to make new changes due to the following error message:
- Policy Declaration - Data Safety Section: “URL provided Privacy Policy Hub does not link to a valid page, missing reference to the app or to the entity (for example, developer, company) named in the app’s Google Play listing.”
I am aware users can make this request by emailing DPO@unity3d.com but the requirement on Play is specifically for a link. Is there a better url I could link to, or some other fix for this?
do you found any solution?
Ultimately I just made a custom webpage that mentions my app by name and asks the user to email DPO@unity3d.com with their request. For good measure I link to a prewritten request email. If you don’t have your own website to use it’s pretty simple to set up a page on github for this.
If you can’t be bothered to write your own site, here is the template for mine, I give you full permission to use it however you like. Just search and replace all occurrences of “[Your app name]” with the name of your app.
I removed my copyright notice from the footer, but feel free to add your own back to make your site look more official. Otherwise, you should be good to go
