Explore the new Asset Store section of Asset Manager

We’ve just released our Asset Store integration for Asset Manager. This brings a connected asset ecosystem in Unity one step closer by allowing Asset Store users to save their purchased assets in the cloud on Asset Manager. A major pain point we have heard from our users is that they were frustrated having to download the whole asset pack into Package Manager to get a single asset out of it. This integration allows them to itemize their assets in the cloud and to then just pull in the asset they want via our Editor package.

Easily add any purchased asset to your projects

All your Asset Store purchases now automatically show up in the ‘My Store Assets’ section of our External Libraries. Simply select your purchased asset pack and select ‘Add to Project’ to add your asset pack to any Asset Manager project or collection. The best bit is they are stored for free in Asset Manger.

Itemized assets

Each Asset Store package is unpacked and every file is saved as its own asset inside your project. You can easily find the asset you are looking for using the ‘Asset file type’ filter. For example if you just want to see your prefabs, simply filter by ‘Prefab’.

View all your dependencies

Not only do we itemize all your assets we also unpack their dependencies. You can easily view upstream and downstream dependencies in our Dependency Viewer.

Import into Editor

Once you have unpacked your Asset Store assets into Asset Manager you will then be able to browse them from the Asset Manager package in Unity Editor. Just browse, filter and import the asset you want, secure in the knowledge that all dependent assets will be imported with it.

Awesome! This alone makes the Asset Manager a fundamental tool for me.

nice, downloading several Gb of assets that sits in the C drive taking space just to get maybe a couple of variations from that assets is a pain

Nice! Asking here since i didn’t get any response on my post.
Is there a way to be able to access datasets in the Asset Manager right now? If not, is it on the roadmap or not at all?

This is an awesome improvement. Thank you for the work that was put into this!

Hey Kilian, answered in the other topic Unaccessible dataset from asset manager in editor? - #3 by BasilefromUnity

Thank you for working on the Asset Manager! Its a big help already.

My company would like to store their assets locally instead. Would it be possible to add a local folder as an external library? This seems like a no brainer for making the asset manager more useful.

I some how missed this, it’s amazing! You guys need to tell more people about this!

ATM tho I don’t see alll my assets.

This says i should see a lot but i only see like 10.

I have the same issue. I own thousands of assets but only see about 20 in my asset manager. @EOS_Game_Studio Should I see all of them or what could be a reason only a few dozen are actually shown?

definitely do a bug report, apparently they’re aware of the issue but i dunno if a fix has been rolled out yet.
