We are working closely with major platforms and partners on solutions that help update and preserve user generated content. Migration and compatibility are critical in ecosystems where content lives for many years. I hope we can share more details during the year how we are migrating one of the largest UGC platforms to URP. We also have techniques to bring already compiled Android content to other platforms like iOS in this process.
We invest right now in more automated upgrade paths, tooling and documentation. And we are in touch with many major studios directly on that topic. We know content updates are not trivial, especially for large projects that were created many years ago.
It is also not easy to simply bring established Built-It mechanics like multi-camera setups or GrabPass one to one from Built-In to URP. That is why we also look into solutions how to make this transition easier, without changing the project setup too much. Even though URP has a different architecture, we don’t want to leave studios behind that face this exact challenge.
We work with all these studios to identify common blockers or pitfalls, to create meaningful solutions and support them in this transition. That is also why we inform early, to have enough years to build solid solutions and fill gaps or adoption blockers.
If you have any very specific upgrade blockers and ideas how to bring this into a modern, scalable architecture, we are more than happy to listen
