Hello, I am currently working on a project that will launch on the Apple and Google Play app stores. We need a way to reward specific players with an in game currency through email or some other means. I cannot find any documentation about this, and I feel like I’m simply looking something over. How could I go about setting this up to easily reward players after the game goes live.
Unity isn’t really going to help you much there unless you just hard code rewards into your game. Like if I complete level 5 I get some coins.
Most likely, you’ll want a way to reward from a backend service to the account directly. Example, some backend services allow you to award whoever has the highest score for the leaderboard on a given week. Unfortunately, without knowing more about your game setup, it’s hard to give a good idea of what you could do.
We intend to setup a kickstarter and have one of the rewards be a small early boost to your in game currency. So I believe the only way to do this would be to setup a backend and have a rewards distribution through those means but with how simple we intend the game to be, we were hoping to avoid this. I’ll discuss this with the others, but in the meantime, what would be the best method for setting up a backend. Is there a good service for this that is agreed on by the community or mostly up to personal preference?
The game will not be online. So the only way to do this would be through a database. However I have discussed this with our team and we have made our solution. Thank you to everyone for your help.
